United Through Reading's
programs encourage parents
and extended family members
to read aloud with young children,
with special emphasis on the
first five years, for the educational
and emotional benefits to all
involved.
The programs reach out to
children, youth, parents and
caregivers in communities throughout
San Diego County and beyond.
Since 1989, United Through Reading has helped over
346,000 people experience the
magic of reading aloud with
the help of youth and adult
volunteers who have contributed
over 224,000 hours.
